The Women’s Physique division bridges the gap between Figure and Bodybuilding, showcasing muscle size, symmetry, and definition while maintaining a feminine aesthetic. Competitors display larger, more defined muscles than Figure athletes but do not reach the extreme levels of Female Bodybuilding. Muscle striations, symmetry, and a balanced physique are key judging factors, with 9-12% body fat considered ideal.
Judging consists of mandatory bodybuilding poses, including front and back double biceps, side chest, and ab/thigh poses, as well as a choreographed posing routine performed barefoot. Women’s Physique competitors should have a wide back, strong shoulders, and a well-proportioned lower body, with lean muscle mass and controlled conditioning.
This category offers TESTED and NON-TESTED divisions, with the flexibility to combine Women’s Physique and Women’s Bodybuilding if needed. While Female Bodybuilding has declined in popularity, the Physique division honors the tradition by allowing competitors to push for muscular development without extreme vascularity and dryness.
